Accommodations

The organizing committee has selected the Albert Hotel as the preferred hotel for accommodations. It is the nearest hotel to the Stockholm School of Economics, the symposium’s venue, and also in the heart of Riga’s famous art nouveau district.

We would love to have everyone stay for the duration of the symposium at one hotel to have a sense of unity and community at this special event. Symposium organizers selected this hotel not just because of its close proximity to the venue, but also because it can accommodate most participants’ needs, from superior executive rooms to very low cost options for the budget traveler.

The hotel has 246 modern, air-conditioned rooms, each with a work desk, minibar, TV, hair dryer, and free WiFi. Breakfast is included. The Star Lounge bar on the 11th floor features an open rooftop terrace with charming views of the Old Town of Riga.

Important note for budget travelers: Most rooms can accommodate two people. If you are planning on sharing a room, you should let the hotel know at the time of booking to ensure that there are two beds and two names registered to a room. The sharing of a room is entirely up to you and would need to be coordinated by you. Hotel rooms must be directly reserved by you (or your roommate) and guaranteed by a credit card.

Looking for a roommate? Email Aniela White Staszewska ’05 at mhc.riga@gmail.com. Please mark your email request “Looking for a roommate.” Aniela will put you in touch with other alumnae looking for a roommate, however, we cannot guarantee that there will always be someone. You may also post a message to our Mount Holyoke European Alumnae Facebook Group.
