Leslie Smith Green ’94 and Nada Al-Thawr ’19In 2014 Leslie Smith Green ’94 began an informal program of matching incoming international students with alumnae to provide advice, emotional support, and more. In fall 2015 Leslie “adopted” Nada Al-Thawr ’19, who is from Yemen. The two have formed a close bond, often texting each other daily. Read more

 

FYP_Bernhardy-and-Guenther2Hannah Bernhardt ’04 and Layton Guenther ’09 connected at a national young farmers conference in upstate New York. They stay in touch on social media and have cheered each other on as Hannah starts a livestock farm in Minnesota and Layton heads into Quail Hill Farm’s twenty-seventh season as a vegetable CSA in Amagansett, NY.

 

Laakan McHardy ’16 and Michelle Hurst ’74Michelle Hurst ’74, actor, and Laakan McHardy ’16, theatre arts/psychology major, connected in November 2015 when Michelle returned to campus to speak at the Black Alumnae Conference. Laakan was assigned to be her assistant. The two shared an immediate understanding of each other  and have kept in touch. Read more

 

Jodie Pope Morrison '97 and Mary-Ellen Taplin '82Jodie Pope Morrison ’97, CEO of Tokai Pharmaceuticals and Mary-Ellen Taplin ’82, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute clinician and researcher connected in 2009 at an advisory board meeting, the only two women in the room. They are globally advancing the precision medicine movement for prostate cancer patients. Read more

Jennie Wood Sheldon ’83 and Theona Jundanian ’86 live a half-mile from each other on Bainbridge Island, Washington. They met in fall 2012 through a carpool for their daughters’ rowing team. They—and their daughters—have become lifelong friends. Read more

 

 

Find Your People ConnectionWriter and editor Sherry Christie ’68 and speaker, author, and money coach Olivia Mellan ’68 reconnected at their twenty-fifth reunion when Sherry asked to interview Olivia about couples and money. “Sherry did the best article about me that I’d ever seen,” says Mellan. “Now I never write anything without her.” Read more
