Volunteers from the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic clubs/groups are invited to Atlanta, Georgia, for a weekend designed to provide them with tools and information for their volunteer work, as well the opportunity to network with fellow alumnae. This is a wonderful opportunity for club and group leaders to share tools, engagement strategies, challenges, and success stories. Whether you’re a small, informal group or a large, formally structured club, we’re sure that you have something valuable to contribute to our discussions, and confident that you’ll come away with new ideas and inspiration. Registration will be available in February.

Tentative Agenda

Friday, April 10
We’ll kick off the weekend with a joint event with the recently revitalized Atlanta Club.  After a presentation by Stephanie Swafford ’11, a re-settlement case worker at The International Rescue Committee, we’ll have time for networking and conversation

Saturday, April 11
Saturday’s agenda will cover a range of topics including social media and communications, event planning, and recruitment/succession. We’ll wrap up by 5 p.m. on Saturday, in time for those wishing to fly out that night.

Attendance

We feel strongly about the value of this training and are offering a reimbursement package to send up to two representatives from each club/group.  If no one from your club/group can attend, please consider sending someone who might not officially be on your board, but has volunteered for the club/group and could bring back valuable information for you.

Reimbursement

The Alumnae Association will cover accommodations on a shared basis, as well as travel costs for two representatives from each club or group. More details about reimbursement will be available soon.

Accommodations

Accommodations for Friday night will be arranged by the Alumnae Association at the Glenn Hotel in Atlanta. For those that do not have flights leaving Atlanta at a reasonable time after Saturday’s sessions, the Alumnae Association will arrange accommodations at the same hotel for Saturday night as well.
