Installing the MHConnect Application on Facebook

To make connecting even easier, we've added a brand-new Facebook application just for alums. With a few clicks, you'll be able to visit the Alumnae Association Web site from within your Facebook page, where you can find fellow alumnae, check out online class notes, or join a discussion group. Once you've logged in, you will never have to log in again from Facebook. The new application also feeds you instant alumnae event updates, so you're never out of the MHC loop.

This tutorial will show you how to connect the MHConnect application with your Facebook account. You will need to be registered on Facebook and logged in to your account. Click here to go to the MHConnect Application Page on Facebook.

Go to the Application on the Facebook MHConnect Page

Once you are on the MHConnect Facebook page select Go to Application.

Allow Access

Facebook will ask if you want to permit MHConnect to access your profile. Select Allow.

Link Facebook to Your MHConnect Account

Before you can take advantage of MHConnect's features you must first link it to your Facebook account. Select Link to your Facebook Account. You will need to register on the Alumnae Association web site (alumnae.mtholyoke.edu) if you have not already done so (select Register Now).

Login to MHConnect

Login to MHConnect with the username and password from your MHC Alumnae Association account (1) . If you have forgotten your username or password select Forgot (2).

Possible Error

There's a chance you might encounter an error during the login process. If this happens, select Try Again.

MHConnect Page

After your profiles are linked you'll have access to all the features that MHConnect offers. From this page you can update your alumnae profile info, post your resume, and search for classmates, as well as many other things(1). You can also view Upcoming Events on this page (2).

Bookmark MHConnect in Facebook

On the bottom toolbar in Facebook there is a Bookmark icon. Select it to add MHConnect to your application bookmarks.

Using the MHConnect Bookmark

There should now be a bookmark for the MHConnect page on your toolbar in the lower left-hand corner. You can select it to access MHConnect quickly from any page in Facebook.

Organize Your Application Bookmarks

You can re-organize your bookmarks by dragging them into the order you'd like in the Applications menu on the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. Select Applications to open the menu and then drag-and-drop items where you want them. Only the top six applications in the list will be visible on your bottom toolbar.

Go to Your Facebook Home

Select Home on the Facebook toolbar to go to your home page.

MHConnect in Your Applications Bookmarks

You can should see MHConnect on the Applications quick menu on your Facebook home page.

Adding MHConnect to Your Boxes Tab

Go to the Applications button on the bottom toolbar, and select Edit.

On the MHConnect row select Edit.

Select the profile tab on the Edit MHConnect Settings popup.

Next to the Box: Available setting select add.

The Box setting should now display Added. Select Okay to close the popup.

Verify Box Was Added

Select Profile in the top toolbar to go to your profile.

Go to Boxes Tab

Select the Boxes Tab. The Boxes tab is the home for all of your applications. Applications are a core part of the Facebook experience, and the Boxes tab allows you to keep the applications you’ve authorized in a single, organized space.

View Boxes Tab

MHConnect should be visible on your Boxes page. From here you can access all the great features it has to offer. Select Update MHC Info to update your profile.
