Alumnae Information Services
Alumnae Information Services maintains biographical information on over 33,000 living alumnae (any former student who has attended Mount Holyoke College for at least one academic year and any other former student who makes a written application to the Alumnae Association Office).
Alumnae Association Policy
It is the policy of the Alumnae Association to give out the address of an
alumna only to another alumna or College offices and departments. We give
out information only for College-related purposes, not commercial or political use.
We do, however, offer to forward correspondence to alumnae. In cases of
emergency, a staff person will get the caller's phone number and contact
the alumna. Please be assured that we take great care in protecting the
privacy of our alumnae.
The Nature Of Our Records
Records are kept in paper and computerized files.
- Biographical records include all correspondence, questionnaires, photographs, and newspaper clippings and are stored in individual alumnae biographical folders.
- Computer records include biographical information easily retrieved through categorized queries.
Computerized Records
On all active alumnae, we maintain a computerized name and address file that
contains: undergraduate name, class, current name, nickname, address, e-mail,
and home phone number. In addition to this, we also keep the following
information: education, special-group affiliations, children, volunteer
activities (directorships, trusteeships, non-MHC volunteer work, etc.),
employment, interests, trips taken with the Alumnae Association, and visits
to campus.
Our sophisticated database enables us to retrieve information for a variety of purposes, such as:
- Reports and labels for filling Alumnae Association board and committee positions
- College job searches
- Class, club, and program mailings
- Other specialized mailings
Information Changes and Questions
In order to keep the flow of communication between offices running smoothly,
we encourage alumnae to notify us of changes (address, phone, e-mail, employment,
etc.).
