Q: How do I change my address?
A: You can change your address by going to Share Your News and then Update Your Listing
. The lock icon indicates that you must be registered with the Alumnae Association Web site to access that feature. If you do not want to register for the Web site, you can e-mail your new information to our Information Services department.
A: Log in services are password-protected areas of our Web site, designed to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of alumnae. You must register to take advantage of all of our log in services. This lock icon
appears next to any service that requires a username and password. For a list of all log in services we offer, click the Log In Services link located in the top right gray box of every page on our site.
Q: How do I register for the Web site?
A: You are automatically given the opportunity to register, if you haven’t yet, when you try to access any log in service. To register for the Alumnae Association Web site, you will need to obtain your security ID. This can be found on the address label of your latest Alumnae Quarterly, and other mailings from the Association. You can also submit a request form to obtain your ID. Once you have your security ID, click any Register Now link throughout the site, or go directly to www.alumnae.mtholyoke.edu/go/register.
There are four registration steps:
Step 1 will allow you to search for your name. Only your last name is required, but you can also enter first name and class year to narrow your results. Alumnae in social class years such as FPs, CGs, or MAs should be sure to enter MHFP, MHCG, or MHMA in their class year. Once you have entered your name, click Find My Record.
Step 2 will display a list of records that matched your search criteria. Once you find your name in the list, click on it to continue to Step 3. If you do not see your name displayed, you can click the BACK button of your browser to change your search criteria, or you can fill out a form to be sent to the site administrator. (Please note: the online directory pulls the alumna’s mail name from the College database, so if your mail name is Mrs. John W. Lyon, John Lyon will be displayed on this screen. You can change your name once you have registered so that it displays correctly with your first name.)
Step 3 will ask you to enter your ID number to verify your record. Enter the number and click the Validate button.
Step 4 will allow you to choose a username and password that you can easily remember. This step will also provide terms and conditions that you must agree to in order to register, and you can select whether or not to have your username and/or password e-mailed to you. Be sure to click the Complete Registration button in order to fully complete the registration process. If you do not click this button, you will not be registered.
If you have trouble with the registration process, please contact Stacey Coleman-Litterer FP’06 for assistance.
Q: I want to register for the Web site, but I do not have a security ID. How do I obtain this?
A: Your security ID can be found on the address label of your latest Alumnae Quarterly, and other mailings from the Association. You can also submit a request form to obtain your ID, or you can call our Information Services department at 413-538-2303.
Q: I am having trouble finding what I’m looking for. What can I do?
A: The Alumnae Association Web site provides two features that are helpful when you are not sure where to look for what you need:

Q: How can I subscribe to the Laurel Chain?
A: The Laurel Chain (our monthly e-newsletter) is sent to all alumnae unless you have opted out of it. If you are not receiving the e-newsletter, check your e-mail preferences to be sure that you have not opted out of receiving it, and to be sure that the Alumnae Association has your most recent e-mail address.
Q: How can I contact Alumnae Association staff?
A: Go to About Us on the top navigation menu, and choose Contact Us. This list shows you which Alumnae Association staffer does what, and how to contact that person.
Q: What is a LifeNet profile, and how do I get one?
A: LifeNet is a networking program designed to connect alumnae and students around the world for business, academic, and social networking. All alumnae automatically have a LifeNet profile, which includes basic academic and employment information. To make the most of your LifeNet profile, be sure to update your profile to include any and all information that you wish to share with your MHC sisters.
Q: How can I sign up for the Alumnae Stay program?
A: Alumnae Stay provides safe, free, short-term housing to MHC students and alumnae traveling to unfamiliar places in pursuit of academic, professional, and personal growth. To sign up to host a student, go to LifeNet and update the Networking Preferences section of your LifeNet profile. You can choose to offer housing for whatever amount of time is convenient for you.
Q: I am having trouble getting results when I search LifeNet. How can I get better results?
A: If you are not getting many results when searching LifeNet, try using less search criteria. You can search on as little as one field, and will increase your results with a more general search. For more specific help on searching LifeNet, go to our LifeNet help section
.
