Ways to Volunteer
Alumnae Stay Program
Host an MHC student or alumna in your home!
Students and alumnae alike have a great need for free and temporary housing when traveling for academic and/or employment-related business. The need is especially great during January and the summer months when students travel for internships.
With your help, we can provide a service to MHC students and alumnae that can help alleviate the burden of finding a safe place to live when they travel to unfamiliar places in pursuit of academic, professional, and personal growth.
As an alumna volunteering to provide this service, you will be offering free temporary housing to an MHC student or alumna for an amount of time suitable to you. Nothing more is expected of you!
In order to use this service, students and alumnae have been asked to fulfill the following requirements
- They must be an MHC student or alumna.
- They must be traveling for the purpose of academic and/or employment-related business like internships, job interviews, graduate school search, or mentoring.
- They must carry health insurance that provides medical coverage at the place they visit.
- They must request housing at least two weeks prior to the date of their visit.
