2014 Slate of Nominees for Alumnae Association Board and Committee Positions

The Nominating Committee respectfully submits the following slate of candidates for election at the Annual Meeting to be held on May 17, 2014. Each candidate has been fully informed of the responsibility and rights of the position and has indicated consent to serve if elected. Members may submit additional nominations as outlined in the bylaws.

Note: Additional nominations may be submitted by written petition signed by at least 100 voting members, no more than 30 percent of whom shall be from the same class or from the same club area. This petition must be received by the Alumnae Association’s executive director no later than May 7 (ten days before the Annual Meeting, at which the election will be held). Nominations by petition shall include the written consent of the nominee to serve if elected.

    As a political science major, I find this announcement an outrage. Why cannot ALL alumnae vote (online) for officers and changes to the association bylaws, not only those attending Reunion I?
    What exactly are the proposed changes to the bylaws? Why are they not shown beside the wording of the old by-laws?
    Who are the additions to the slate of officers? Are they nominees from the committee or from the “floor” i. e., grassroots?
