DESCRIPTION:You are cordially invited to attend the LEAP Symposium on Friday\, October 17 from 12:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. in Kendade Atrium at Mount Holyoke College\, with a reception to follow. \nMore than 200 students will present about their summer internships and research experiences on topics ranging from medical and legal research to Bitcoin startups and organic farms. Students worked in South Hadley as well as China\, Africa\, Latin America\, Asia\, and Europe. Among them are prospective investment bankers\, big data analysts\, rural educators\, and urban entrepreneurs. There are research scientists in every field as well as a woman who might be your surgeon in a few years! \nA full schedule of student presenters\, topics\, and locations will be available by October 10 at mtholyoke.edu/leap.

DESCRIPTION:Please join the MHC Club of the Piedmont for their fall 2014 meeting. \nThey will meet at Southern States in Carrboro to enjoy an interactive gardening workshop. Horticulturist Jane Nordwall will lead the group through how to create a container garden with evergreens\, annuals\, and bulbs. She will also teach how to force paperwhites in different types of containers. She will then open the floor for a Q&A on any gardening issues. \nSouthern States will be extending 10 percent off all plants and bulbs that day. Lunch will follow. \n
