SUMMARY:Mount Holyoke European Alumnae Symposium
DESCRIPTION:At the Crossroads: Quo Vadis? Warsaw 2013\nJoin us for a weekend of stimulating presentations and deep discussions as we delve into Polish history and explore cultural\, religious as well as political topics. Our theme acknowledges Poland’s geographic location\, at the crossroads of Central and Eastern Europe\, and pays homage to Polish literary achievement and Henryk Sienkiewicz’s Nobel Prize winning book Quo Vadis. \nThe Symposium will take place at the Central Agricultural Library located close to the city’s picturesque Old Town. It is housed in a building where Marie Skłodowska-Curie\, studied and worked. After receiving her Nobel Prizes\, Marie Curie came back to Poland and gave lectures in the same auditorium where the symposium will be held. \nSpecial MHC guests include President Lynn Pasquerella ’80 and Professor Stephen Jones\, chair of Russian and Eurasian Studies. \n» Learn more!
