DESCRIPTION:You’re Invited: Saturday June 13 for a lecture by Ann Trenk\, Professor and Chair of the Department of Mathematics at Wellesley College. Please also consider joining in for a post-lecture dinner at a nearby restaurant. \n  \nIn “The World of Graph Theory: Coloring\, Scheduling and Solving Mysteries\,” Professor Trenk will remind us that mathematics is more than just equations and arithmetic. Math encompasses tools and techniques for modeling and solving real-world problems. This lecture is suitable for general audiences—no math background required! \n  \nAnn Trenk is Professor and Chair of the Department of Mathematics at Wellesley College where she has taught since 1992. She has published over 30 research articles focused primarily on structured families of graphs and partially ordered sets. Her book\, “Tolerance Graphs\,” coauthored with Martin Golumbic\, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2004. \n  \nLocation: Collective Agency. 322 NW Sixth Ave (between Everett and Flanders)\, Suite 200\, Portland\, Oregon. \n  \nEvent Time and Format for Saturday\, June 13: \n3:00 Event set up and attendee check-in. \n3:30 Lecture starts. DESCRIPTION:Commencement and reunion season is here!  Join the Club for one of Mount Holyoke’s most delicious traditions: Strawberries and Champagne.  Reconnect with alumnae\, toast the newest graduates in the class of 2015\, and welcome current students who are spending the summer in Chicagoland.\nTamar Westphal ’12 will host at her home in north Evanston.  (Note: there will be a large and very friendly dog.  There is beautiful outdoor space in case anyone has dog allergies.)  Strawberries and beverages will be provided; please bring hors d’oeuvres or dessert to share.  RSVP to Tamar to receive the address and indicate whether you can offer or would like to join a carpool.
