SUMMARY:Club of Iberia's First Event (Madrid)
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, 31 October\, Malasaña\, Madrid (Metro Tribunal) \n15:00–17:00: Degustación de té at Black Pepper & Co\, C/ San Vicente Ferrer 10\, 28004\, Madrid. \nCost: 5€\, which covers a tasting of six teas and a light lunch. The best value tea tasting in Madrid! Of course\, if money is tight please let me know and we will certainly find an affordable solution.\nBlack Pepper & Co is an extremely well-stocked tea and spice shop\, and will be providing a tasting of a variety of interesting teas (that are not available in DIA or Carrefour!). They will also be pairing the teas with a light lunch so we can taste some of their rarer spices. \nAlso\, if you have any dietary requirements\, please let me know. \n17:00–19:15: Talks from MHC alums in Spain\, at C/ San Vicente Ferrer 22\, Ext\, 1º\, Dcha 1\, 28004\, Madrid.\nProgramme of Talks:\n– The Joys and Challenges of Teaching Spanish in Spain\, Raquel Malpelo ’02\n– Let Me Tell You a Story: My Experience of Storytelling\, Ana Fraile ’90\n– Gibraltar\, Spain and the New Politics of the Strait\, Edwina Hayes ’84 \n20:00–21:00: Flamenco workshop at El Cotijo Taberna Flamenco (Metro: Portazo\, Linea 1)\, Mercado Numancia\, local 9\, C/ Josefa Diaz\, 4. 28038 – Madrid\, (entrada por Pico de la Maliciosa\, s/n)\nCost: 5€ for an hour-long workshop in the art of flamenco. \n21:00–Late: Dinner and a flamenco show at El Cotijo Taberna Flamenco. We can see if we can use our new-found flamenco knowledge to better understand the show! The dinner will be a three-course meal with drinks and\, after some gruelling taste-testing\, I can confirm that the food is delicious.\nCost: 20€ for the dinner and flamenco show. The show will start around 22:15\, meaning we will have plenty of time for chatting as well!
