DESCRIPTION:It is our opportunity to offer insights and ask questions in an open forum regarding the Strategic Plan for 2016–2021. This event is hosted by the Mount Holyoke Club of Southern California\, the President’s Office\, and the Alumnae Association. \nSonya Stephens\, vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty\, and a professor of French\, will speak to us about Mount Holyoke today and possible changes during the next five years. SUMMARY:Club of Central and Northern Arizona Culture and Cocktails (Phoenix\, AZ)
DESCRIPTION:Ivy Council alums and their guests are invited to a special screening where ASU film professor Joe Fortunato (Yale ’89) will screen\, discuss\, and provide “live commentary” on the Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman 1942 classic\, Casablanca – often cited as the “one of the most beloved films of all time!” \nWe will start with a social happy hour from 5:00–6:00 p.m. with a variety of cheeses to go with your wine. At 6:00 p.m.\, Professor Fortunato will provide a brief discussion about the background and making of the film. Then we will screen the film in FilmBar’s beautiful and comfortable screening room. Think of it as a “living room book club” for film fans! During the film\, live commentary will be provided\, giving you insights into the film making process and some guidance on how to “read” a film creatively. After the film\, we can discuss what we’ve learned and debate if it lives up to its “most beloved film” reputation (and even discuss what that designation means in the subjective world of creative art). \nTickets: $10.00 (Anticipated to sell out so must be purchased in advance). DESCRIPTION:Big Interview Demonstration\nDecember 7\, 2015\nFive College Women’s Studies Resource Center\n83 College Street South Hadley\, MA.  \nDyanne Rousseau will demonstrate Big Interview—an online software application made available to MoHo alums thru the Career Development Center. This interactive skills-building app provides tutorials\, coaching sessions and exercises to help you prepare for all aspects of your next job interview. Big Interview can assist in crafting an elevator pitch\, fine tuning behavioral stories\, and anticipating tough questions. The mock interview tool provides an opportunity to flex your interviewing muscles and gain the additional confidence that comes with real-time Q&A practice.
