DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Mary Lyon’s birthday and women’s history with a private tour of the special exhibition Women Take the Lead: From Elizabeth Cady Stanton to Eleanor Roosevelt\, Suffrage to Human Rights. This incredible collection features 22 extremely rare suffragette posters dating from the 1912 Presidential election year\, along with other artifacts from the decades-long women’s suffrage moment. \nRoosevelt House was the New York City home of President Franklin D. and Eleanor Roosevelt from 1905-1941. It was in this house that President Roosevelt asked Frances Perkins to become secretary of labor\, and the first female cabinet member. \nCost: $15 includes private group tour and a contribution to the Alumnae Scholarship Fund. \nPay via PayPal to reserve your spot \nGroup is limited to 20 people. DESCRIPTION:The Mount Holyoke Alumnae Club of Hartford is celebrating Mary Lyon’s 219th birthday with an afternoon tea. \nWe are gathering at the home of Kat Kronengold ’96 in Barkhamsted. Unlike the Mary Lyon dinner in May which centers on a guest speaker and stimulating discussion\, the tea is an informal occasion\, with nothing on the agenda except socializing and casual networking. \nPlease bring a favorite dessert to share.
