DESCRIPTION:Join the Mount Holyoke Club of the Peninsula for a Mountain Day hike and lunch at Salsa’s Taco Bar in Santa Cruz. \nDistance: 3.6 miles; Elevation Gain: 740 feet at Henry Cowell State Park. \nThis is a beautiful hike. We’ll descend through the forest\, cross a creek\, climb 740 feet up to the Observation Deck\, and stop there for a bit to enjoy the view. We’ll then finish up through sandy terrain. This hike is 75 percent shaded. \nTrail Route: Powder Mill Trail > Powder Mill Fire Road > Pine Trail > Obs Deck > Ridge Fire Road > Powder Mill Train. \nCarpool: Meet at the Starbucks at 200 Saratoga Ave.\, Santa Clara 95050 at 9:30 a.m. to head over to the park together. Primary carpool will stay for lunch at Salsa’s Taco Bar after the hike\, or you can drive separately if you wish to leave from the park directly. DESCRIPTION:The Mount Holyoke Club of Central Ohio will be having our next get-together at the farm of Elizabeth Hanning Smith ’98. \nWe look forward to socializing over cider and donuts and having a robust discussion about the Facilities Master Plan\, which calls for community dining. Information can be found on the College’s website. \nWe also plan to collect items for “exam relief boxes” which will be sent to current MHC central Ohio students in early December\, compliments of our club. If you can provide an item to include in the boxes (we have 5 current students—so bring 5 of an item) we would be grateful. SUMMARY:Club of Southwest Florida Mountain Day Celebration (Sarasota\, FL)
DESCRIPTION:We are planning our own version of Mountain Day\, fathering at Mote Marine Aquarium for a Sea Life Encounter Cruise aboard a 40-foot covered pontoon boat\, equipped with on-board restrooms and comfortable seating. Expert guides will tell us about the flora and fauna\, including local seabirds in their nesting habitat and perhaps manatees and dolphins that may swim alongside us. \nIt is important that you be there by 1:00 p.m. for check in.
