SUMMARY:Lecture with John Stomberg\, Director of MHC Art Museum (Cincinnati)
DESCRIPTION:John Stomberg\, director of the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum speaks on “Creativity\, Innovation\, and Leadership Through Art.” \nThe lecture will explain how the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum has been part of a major transformation in how college art museums across the county operate. The primary shift in focus has been from teaching about art to teaching with art. The Museum concentrates on supporting the curriculum of college faculty. Additionally\, with the recent three-year grant from the Pierre and Tana Matisse Foundation\, the Museum has taken on the challenge of achieving the College’s stated mission: preparing young adults for lives of purposeful engagement in the world. To that end\, we now train skills associated with creativity\, innovation\, and leadership through a curriculum based on art. \nRSVP by emailing Ruthannewolfe@gmail.com or calling 513-307-3640.
