Gail Berson
Serving as Mount Holyoke’s chief enrollment officer since July 2015, Gail Berson oversees admission, enrollment innovation and management, and student financial services. She works collaboratively and directly with other vice presidents on a number of special initiatives, including but not limited to Mount Holyoke’s participation in the Posse Foundation partnership, integrated marketing communications, strategic planning, and convenes the Enrollment Management Group, a cross-divisional initiative to improve enrollment prediction. Berson serves as a member of the president’s cabinet.
With more than thirty-five years of experience, Berson is a recognized expert in her field. She held appointments at University of San Francisco, Mills College, served as dean of admission and financial aid at Wheaton College in Massachusetts, and worked as a college counselor at a private high school. She is a frequent speaker across the country at high school parent programs. She recently completed a term as a College board trustee, and continues to serve on their national committees for governance, membership, and their ad-hoc bylaws review committee.
A magna cum laude graduate of Bowdoin College with a master’s degree from Emerson College, Berson has volunteered on local boards and agencies and served as a past president of the Bowdoin College Alumni Council.
