Reunion

Reunion 2019

During the last two weekends in May, we welcomed back nearly 1,300 alumnae from classes ending in nines and fours plus the class of 2017. Generations spanning nearly a century traveled from across the globe to reconnect with each other and the idyllic campus they still call home.

Attendees visited favorite professors; toured the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum, Abbey Memorial Chapel, Williston Library, the Community Center and the new Fimbel Maker and Innovation Lab; attended Back-to-Class sessions; took class pictures; bought MHC sweatshirts at the Odyssey Bookshop; recreated M & Cs; and, of course, proudly wore white and participated in the Laurel Parade.

President Sonya Stephens spent time with several classes over breakfasts, social hours and dinners. “When you return to this very special place and come together with friends, you bring new energy and history to these grounds we all love,” she said in her address at the Annual Meeting. “As you walk these paths again, my hope for each of you is that you will find connection to the College, and to each other, in ways that reignite in you memories and excitement, as well as the joy and intellectual stimulation of this community.”

Mount Holyoke alumnae played a significant role in planning the festivities. Each returning class organized dinners, social hours, dances and other special programming, including a scavenger hunt and a canoe ride around upper lake. Paired with the Alumnae Association’s events such as the Welcome Ceremony for New Alumnae and the Laurel Parade, Mount Holyoke Reunion is a very special event.
