Club of DC Food Distribution with ALIVE (Alexandria, VA)

ALIVE serves about 300 people, including senior citizens in the Ladrey and Annie B Rose buildings and others referred by Alexandria city social agencies.  Each client receives two paper bags with canned meat, vegetables, soup, fruit,  beans, pasta, cereal, juice and peanut butter; bags with produce from the Capital Area Food Bank; and frozen meat, eggs, and milk. Volunteers prepare the bags, deliver to about ninety clients (who are too old or sick to pick up their food), and then distribute bags to able-bodied clients.
