Miriam’s Words (Chicago)

October 11, 2014 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Miriam’s Words—an in-depth, real-time account of the life of the spouse of a public servant in the mid-twentieth century—is a collection of letters written by Miriam Judd ’25. Judd was the wife of Dr. Walter Judd, who was a medical missionary in China for ten years and a US Congressman in DC for twenty years. The collection was compiled and edited by Mary Lou Judd Carpenter ’55, daughter of the writer. Mary Lou will be visiting the club for a reading and discussion of this fascinating portrait of a mother and wife in the mid-twentieth century. Books will be available for purchase and signing. For more information, please visit miriamswords.com or contact Alexis Trocki, book club coordinator.
