Club of the Peninsula Docent Led Art Tour (Stanford, CA)
November 22, 2015 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Do you appreciate modern and contemporary American art? If so, join the club for a docent led tour of the Anderson Collection at Stanford University, Saturday, November 21, from 3:00–4:00 p.m. “The collection is anchored in the work of Abstract Expressionists like Jackson Pollock and extends to contemporary painters such as Terry Winters, Sean Scully, Vija Celmins and Julie Mehretu . . . less well-known California movements—Bay Area Figurative art, California Funk, Light and Space—are the real stars of the show.” In September, just one year after opening its doors, The Anderson Collection opened four new exhibits receiving acclaim.
Architectural Digest considers The Anderson Collection one of the 10 Buzz-Worthy New Museums. The Anderson Collection received a 2015 award of excellence from the American Institute of Architects, New York State.
Space is limited, so please RSVP promptly to: Michelle M Lepore. Please arrive at the Anderson Collection by 2:50 p.m. to gather with the group. Visit here for directions and parking information. Following the tour, join the group for coffee and conversation at the Cool Café at the Cantor Arts Center (adjacent to The Anderson Collection).
