April Fool’s!
The “Alma Mater” is a treasured traditional song and we would never replace it.

And over there they have their Heidelberg, and then there’s Morey’s….
A face upon the barroom floor I’d rather be THAN dull once more
The last two lines as shown are not quite right, but I can’t remember what they should be (class of ’58; cut me some slack).
The drinking song is so much better….
@CynthiaSmith
WOW, I didn’t know that parody version! Our current one is
Oh Mount Holyoke we pay thee tuition
With the fervor of youth that’s gone wrong
Each year it gets higher and higher
My God, alma mater, how long?
So from barroom to bedroom we stagger
And united in free love for all!
Our drinks are too strong and our morals gone
Mount Holyoke, what’s happening to me-e-e;
Mount Holyoke, what’s happening to me?!

Drinking Song
Tired of books and boring classes,
drop your books, pick up your glasses,
a toast
to those who boast
of mixing Greek and Latin with a cool Manhattan,
Smith can have their iced-tea hours
we prefer our our whiskey sours
drink
and never think
about tomorrow tonight
And over there they have their (something, something)
and then there’s Morey’s down at Yale,
and when those Harvard boys
drink to college joys
it’s dull you must agree
squeezing lemon in your tea…
A face upon the barroom floor
I’d rather be that dull once more (?)
we’re here
bring on the beer
for tonight we’ll be sober tomorrow (?)
here’s a toast to old MHC
I believe “Something Something” = Heidelberg
Do we have a drinking song? I only know the parody version from the 70’s
Oh, Mount Holyoke, we pay thee tuition
Room and board for the boys that we keep
They add to our joy in the daytime
They add to our beds when we sleep
From morning to sunset we study
And from sunset to dawn we indulge
Our grass is so fine with our pipes and wine
Mount Holyoke, you’re blowing our mi-i-inds,
Mount Holyoke you’re blowing our minds
