Reunion 2016
Reunion 2016
Over two beautiful, spring weekends in May more than 1,100 alumnae from classes ending in sixes and ones and generations that span nearly a century traveled back to campus from across the globe to reconnect with each other and the idyllic campus they still call home.
Among the walking tours of campus, class dinners, Back-to-Class sessions, and the parade, the weekends included a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new boardwalk on Upper Lake, part of the restoration ecology initiative, Project Stream, as well as tours and information sessions about the new planned community center set to break ground in the fall. In addition, many classes hosted incoming Acting President Sonya Stephens at social receptions, allowing reuning alumnae to interact with Mount Holyoke’s newest leader in an informal setting.
It is increasingly important to find ways to bring people together.

This year classes were exceptionally creative when planning activities, which included an early morning bird walk with the class of 1966; a paint night in which 1991 alumnae created their own MHC-themed canvas; a Taste of the Valley Reception hosted by the class of 2006 to revisit the food and drink enjoyed as students; and an interactive movement experience with the class of 1981.
In addition two classes participated in community service projects. The class of 2006 assembled party favor bags for Birthday Wishes, which provides birthday parties for homeless children and their families; and the class of 2011 brought canned good items to donate to the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.
