Meg A. Massey ’08, former policy analyst with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and current consultant with Deloitte, had the unique opportunity to participate in a basketball game on the South Lawn of the White House last summer. Although she was unable to play one-on-one with the President, who had to decline due to diplomatic travel, she did get the chance to go up against Denis McDonough, the President’s chief of staff, and Gene Sperling, his chief economic advisor. Halfway through the game, Massey sprained her ankle going up for a shot. McDonough and Sperling retrieved ice and ibuprofen for her, and spectator Sylvia Mathews Burwell, OMB director, gave her a ride home in her Secret Service-driven car.
